Our Story...

Foster's Home for Dogs is located on a 5 acre private property in Durham Bridge, New Brunswick. It is a force and fear free kennel experience for dogs of all ages and backgrounds. Founded in 2008 by Chris Pritchett, Foster's was created as an alternative for families who knew their dogs would do very poorly in a traditional kennel setting surrounded by dozens of other dogs. We understand that dogs are complex and unique, and our facility is designed with that in mind. Chris is a Fear Free Certified Professional, PIJAC Certified Canine Specialist, and a Certified LEGS Applied Ethology: Family Dog Mediator. A Family Dog Mediator (FDM) is an individual with special training and education above and beyond training or behaviour consulting. FDMs assess each animal based on their L.E.G.S. - each individual's Learning, Environment, Genetics, and Self because each plays a critical role in that animal's behaviour.

We offer 6 spots for single or multiple dogs with a maximum of 10 dogs on site at anytime. This low stress, low risk environment ensures that your dog gets the attention they deserve and keeps their day quieter, calmer, and with as little traffic and disruption as possible. Each dog has their own room, with a bed, four walls, and a door. Allowing them the privacy and security to settle and rest in their off time. A 3000square foot fenced yard is right off our house, with space to run and explore. In addition, we have acres of private land behind us, for dogs who prefer long walks in the woods.
